About The Position
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to support design, engineering, and consultancy activities for projects based in Lagos, Nigeria. The role requires extensive experience in electrical system design, engineering reviews, and technical leadership across multidisciplinary projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring compliance with international standards, project specifications, and client requirements while providing technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering & Design
- Lead and perform detailed electrical engineering design of oil & gas projects.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable international standards (IEC, IEEE, NFPA, BS) and client specifications.
Technical Leadership & Review
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and intermediate engineers.
- Review and approve electrical engineering documents, drawings, and calculations.
- Participate in design reviews, HAZID/HAZOP, and value engineering workshops.
- Interface with clients, vendors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Project & Site Support
- Provide technical support to construction and commissioning teams.
- Troubleshoot electrical system issues during installation and commissioning phases.
- Ensure alignment between engineering design and site execution.
Compliance & Quality
- Ensure adherence to project quality requirements and company engineering procedures.
- Support audits, technical clarifications, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Maintain accurate and complete engineering documentation.
Requirements
To Be Successful in This Role, You Must Have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum 15+ years of experience in electrical engineering design and consultancy, preferably within oil & gas.
- Strong background in FEED and detailed engineering for brownfield and greenfield projects.
- Experience working on large-scale industrial, oil & gas, power, or infrastructure projects.
- Previous experience in Africa or similar environments is an advantage.
- Willing to work on 8/2 Weeks rotation.
